Singapore Presentation

Last night I presented my presentation at the Digital Media Deisgn Center at Nanyang Polytechnic. YT Lee hosted the event, produced by Keolnmesse. I met another Denny who helped with the technical issues in the audiorium as well as Albert from the school. Mark Chavez was there. Marc is currently setting up the animation program at NTU but went to school at UCLA with Doug Chiang and worked at Dreamworks back on Prince of Egypt. Agnes, Daniel and I took a cab from the Gateway building to Nanyang. We met Michael Lim there.

Pretty soon YT arrived at well.

After the presentation, YT presented me with a really cool Chinese name stamp. In Japan they are called “Hanko” but I think in Japanese it’s called a “Chop”. They also gave me a very stylish SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 staff shirt. I posed for a picture with the team after the presentation.

L to R: Cecilia, Agnes, Kathryn, Mabel, Daniel, Xray, YT, Denny, Mark, Michael

Mabel has a pink Hello Kitty keyboard on her computer back at the office, but I didn’t get a picture of it.

After the presentation a group of us went to Brewworkz to wind down over a few pints.

  1. I remember that presentation room. Looks like the first row is perpetual taboo. Did they up the lumens on the projector by any chance? 🙂

Great to see all the cool SIGGRAPH Asia cats again!

  2. I don’t think they upped the lumens. I just flipped the lights down low when I had a piece of video I really wanted to show with contrast. We tried to have a desk lamp on the podium but that wasn’t too successful.
